Manager - Direct Tax (CA)

As a Manager in our Global Business Tax team, you will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality tax advisory, compliance, and litigation services. The role involves managing client engagements, providing technical tax solutions, developing team members, and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage direct tax advisory engagements independently, with minimal supervision.
• Prepare and review tax opinions, technical notes, and responses to day-to-day client queries.
• Oversee tax compliance activities, including income tax returns, withholding tax statements, advance tax, tax provisioning, and other filings such as SFT.
• Manage tax assessments, litigation proceedings, and appeals before income tax authorities and appellate forums.
• Review and draft responses to tax notices, audit queries, and departmental questionnaires.
• Represent clients before tax authorities for assessments, rectifications, and other tax-related matters.
• Mentor and develop Assistant Managers, Deputy Managers, and Executives to strengthen team capabilities.
• Support the delivery of tax technology solutions through licensing and managed services.
• Act as the single point of contact for end-to-end tax operating engagements.
• Oversee engagement management, including time recording, invoicing, and collections.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop existing client relationships.
• Collaborate with other tax service lines and business functions to address multidisciplinary client requirements.
• Contribute to the firm's knowledge-sharing initiatives, eminence programs, and industry events.

Key Skills and Requirements

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in Direct Taxation.
• Strong technical knowledge of Indian Direct Tax laws and regulations.
• Experience in tax advisory, compliance, assessments, and litigation.
• Excellent analytical skills and conceptual clarity.
• Strong attention to detail and an innovative approach to problem-solving.
• Good time management and cost management skills.
• Proven ability to manage, mentor, and lead teams.
• Effective communication, client management, and presentation skills.
