Job Overview:

Electrica Engineers Pvt Ltd (EEIPL) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager - Design Department to lead the design and development of automotive lighting systems. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development of both current and future projects, ensuring the integration of high-quality products, optimal cost management, and on-time delivery. The role requires in-depth knowledge of Automotive lighting systems, including headlamps, tail lamps, DRLs, fog lamps, and small lamps, with strong experience in Catia V5 and PLM systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership abilities, drive innovation, and work closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Design & Development: Lead the design and development of automotive lighting systems, including headlamps, tail lamps, DRLs, fog lamps, and small lamps, ensuring high product quality, cost optimization, and timely delivery.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of design engineers, providing guidance and ensuring continuous development to achieve department goals.
• Engineering Excellence: Oversee the design process from conceptualization to final product release, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and part validation requirements.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including quality, testing, and production, to ensure seamless integration of design and development processes.
• Moulds, Tools, Jigs & Fixtures: Lead the design and development of moulds, tools, jigs, and fixtures to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and high-quality product output.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that designs meet all regulatory and safety standards in the automotive lighting industry.
• Customer Focus: Engage with customers to understand their needs, providing solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations for lighting systems.
• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize design processes for better efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and innovation.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.

• Experience: 8-12 years of experience in automotive lighting system design and development, with a focus on headlamps, tail lamps, DRLs, fog lamps, and small lamps.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Catia V5 and PLM systems. In-depth knowledge of product design, moulds, tools, jigs, fixtures, and automotive lighting regulations.

• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in driving execution and motivating teams.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve complex design and development challenges, ensuring optimal results.

• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive lighting industry standards and part validation processes.
• Innovation: Experience in leading design changes and driving innovation in automotive lighting solutions.
