Manager / Deputy Manager COB Mechanical - Chrome Ore Beneficiation

Role & responsibilities

• Lead mechanical maintenance of the COB Plant: crushers, vibrating screens, rod/ball mills, hydrocyclones, spirals, shaking tables, jigs, magnetic separators, thickeners, filter presses, slurry pumps and belt conveyors.
• Plan and run preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance to improve MTBF and reduce MTTR and downtime.
• Carry out condition monitoring (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) and root cause analysis of repeat failures.
• Prepare annual maintenance plans, shutdown schedules and the maintenance budget, and execute shutdowns on time.
• Manage spares, critical inventory and wear parts (liners, impellers, screen decks, belts), and coordinate with procurement and stores.
• Handle fabrication and repair jobs, and manage contractors and AMC vendors.
• Execute plant modifications, debottlenecking and small capex projects to improve recovery and throughput.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Mines Act / DGMS / Factories Act as applicable), safety standards and environmental norms.
• Implement and maintain safety systems such as LOTO, work permits and risk assessments, and drive zero-harm culture.
• Lead, train and develop the maintenance team of engineers, supervisors and technicians.
• Maintain maintenance records and KPIs, preferably on SAP PM or a similar CMMS.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Diploma holders with strong relevant experience may also apply.
• Experience: 815 years in mechanical maintenance, with at least 5 years in a mineral beneficiation / ore processing plant (chrome, iron ore, coal washery, manganese, bauxite or similar).
• Hands-on knowledge of size reduction, gravity separation, slurry handling and material handling equipment.
• Exposure to hydraulics, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, alignment and lubrication practices.
• Working knowledge of SAP PM / CMMS.
• Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
