Role Summary:
The Engineer - Data Center Physical Infrastructure is responsible for the project and operation, monitoring, maintenance, and reliability of all critical physical infrastructure within the data center. This includes power systems, cooling systems, fire detection and suppression systems, building management systems (BMS), security systems, structured cabling, and coordination with vendors to ensure uninterrupted operations and compliance with applicable standards.

Key Roles Responsibilities:
Operations Maintenance:
- Monitor and operate critical infrastructure systems including:
- HT/LT, transformers - Electrical Systems
- UPS Systems
- Diesel Generator (DG) Sets
- Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
- Battery Banks
- Precision Air Conditioning (CRAC/CRAH) Units
- Chillers and Cooling Systems
- Fire Detection and Suppression Systems
- Building Management System (BMS)
- Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS)
- CCTV, Access Control, and Security Systems
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of all facility infrastructure.
- Ensure continuous availability of critical systems and maintain targeted uptime.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies in accordance with established SOPs and EOPs.
- Coordinate planned maintenance activities without impacting customer services.
- Leading internal audits for ISO, PCIDSS, UPTIME, TIAP42 etc.
Project Execution and Reporting:
- Plan and execute data center infrastructure projects, including upgrades, capacity expansions, retrofits, and new
- installations, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, OEMs, and vendors for smooth execution of ongoing projects.
- Ensure all project execution activities comply with safety standards, applicable codes, and data center operational protocols.
- Track project milestones, identify risks/delays, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks during project execution to ensure work meets defined standards.
- Maintain proper documentation of project execution, including drawings, test reports, and completion certificates.
- Prepare and circulate daily updates on project progress, site activities, and issues encountered.
- Prepare and share weekly progress reports summarizing achievements, pending activities, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule (e.g., Gantt chart) for all ongoing initiatives, tracking planned vs.
- actual progress.
- Prepare and maintain dashboards for management review, presenting key project and operational metrics, milestones,
- and status at a glance.
- Present project status, risks, and dashboards in periodic review meetings with stakeholders and leadership.
Qualification:
- Minimum Diploma or Bachelor s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Data Center Infrastructure, Project Execution, and Operations.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, cooling, power, and critical data center infrastructure systems.
- Experience in data center operations, preventive maintenance, project execution, and infrastructure management.
- Knowledge of data center standards, safety protocols, compliance requirements, and operational procedures.
