Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end cost accounting for inventory and manufacturing operations, including standard costing, cost roll-ups, variance analysis, and periodic inventory valuation in accordance with US GAAP.
- Manage Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting across all revenue streams — hardware sales, software, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), and professional services — ensuring accurate recognition, allocation, and reconciliation to revenue.
- Account for and monitor warranty costs on product sales, including accrual methodology, true-ups, and analysis of actual claims versus reserves.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations teams on inventory accuracy, cycle counts, obsolescence/excess & obsolete (E&O) reserves, and physical inventory processes.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP (including ASC 330 Inventory, ASC 606 revenue/cost matching) for all cost accounting activities, including technical analysis and disclosures.
- Coordinate and manage external and internal Audit requests related to General ledger, controls testing and financial statement
- Drive and partner with external/ internal teams for process improvements, automation
- Chartered Accountant/ CPA/ MBA with 8-10 years of post-qualification experience,
- Experience in Big 4 or large accounting firms is preferred
- Strong knowledge of NetSuite Manufacturing and Inventory Management
- Sound knowledge of US GAAP/Ind AS
- Experience with Multinational set up, and/ OR Start-up organizations preferred
- Strong financial concepts, knowledge of accounting principles, and clarity on consolidation
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, good IT proficiency, particularly in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
