Manager- BIW Upper Body & Underbody Design

Role & responsibilities :

• Work experience in domain of Automotive BIW Structures Upper body & Underbody.
• Project monitoring & review in Micro level for time line and drawing release.
• To generate various BIW design proposals, modify existing BIW parts designs based on the feedbacks from CAE, Manufacturing Engg., Vehicle build, Vehicle testing etc.
• Able to study the surrounding interface parts, understand the impact due to the design changes & modify the designs
• To study various issues, occur during part manufacturing, vehicle testing & production build and resolve them with feasible design solutions
• To interact with project CFT members to resolve design issues
• Visit to Supplier & Production facility to design related matters
• Preparation of DFMEA, DFA, DVP, SOR
• Interaction with Supplier & PE to resolve the technical issues.

Technical Requirements:

• Work experience in domain of Passenger cars w.r.t Vehicle structural parts like Side Wall, Underbody, Roof Structure, Front wall, Rear wall etc.
• Knowledge of BIW joineries, stamping, welding technologies, BIW assembly process & fabrication.
• Good understanding of GD&T, Tolerance calculations, Part locating strategy, Manufacturing process & understanding of designing sheet metal, Plastic, Rubber, FRP, NVH & fabricated parts.
• Working knowledge of Regulatory requirements for automotive Body system parts
• Able to check the designs on CATIA-V5.
• Ability to handle independent Body related projects and responsible for individual team output.
• Lead & guide the team of min.10 team members and result oriented

Education Requirements:

Mandatory for the Role: B. Tech./B.E.(Mechanical) Preferred

Work Experience:  Min. 12 years to Max 15 years.
