Management Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional to manage end-to-end management accounting activities, financial reporting, statutory compliance, reconciliations, and client-facing finance reviews. The role requires strong analytical skills, month-end close expertise, and the ability to provide accurate financial insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Management Accounts

• Prepare monthly Finance Packs for clients, including:
• Funding Statements
• Cash Flow Projections
• Profit & Loss Statements
• Variance Analysis and Commentary
• Present financial performance and business insights to clients through monthly review calls.
• Review and analyze Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports to identify trends and key business drivers.

Month-End & Year-End Close

• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities within agreed timelines.
• Post accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other adjustment journals.
• Prepare and post reclassification journals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately in the correct accounting period.

Ledger Management & Reconciliations

• Conduct detailed nominal ledger scrutiny and review of general ledger accounts.
• Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial records.

Fixed Assets Management

• Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.
• Calculate and post depreciation accurately in accordance with accounting policies.
• Monitor asset additions, disposals, and transfers.

Stakeholder Management

• Liaise with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders regarding financial reporting and compliance matters.
• Participate in monthly financial review meetings and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• Relevant experience in Management Accounts, Financial Reporting, or Record-to-Report (R2R) processes.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, accruals, prepayments, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with VAT returns and statutory accounts preparation.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACCA / CIMA / CA Inter / CMA qualification (Qualified or Part Qualified preferred).
• Experience working with UK clients and preparing management accounts for UK entities.
• Exposure to audit support and compliance reporting.
