Phlebotomist Job Profile

Location: Hospital
Department: Laboratory / Diagnostics

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples from patients as per prescribed tests and procedures.
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper labelling of samples.
• Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures safely and professionally.
• Handle and transport collected samples to the laboratory as per SOP.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of sample collection.
• Follow infection control, hygiene, and biomedical waste management protocols.
• Ensure patient comfort and address patients politely during the blood collection process.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, laboratory staff, and other hospital departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and availability of blood collection equipment and consumables.
• Follow all hospital policies, laboratory SOPs, and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• DMLT / Relevant Phlebotomy or Healthcare Qualification preferred.
• Experience in blood collection and sample handling.
• Good communication and patient-handling skills.
• Ability to work rotational or night shifts, as required.Role & responsibilities
