Maintenance Shift Incharge

Summary:

The Maintenance Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing shift-level electrical engineering activities and ensuring smooth plant operations. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this role leads the shift team to execute breakdown and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and utilities, minimizing production downtime while maintaining safety standards in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Shift Supervision: Lead and assign tasks to shift electricians, technicians, and contract workers to ensure maximum plant uptime.
• Breakdown Maintenance: Attend to immediate electrical faults, equipment tripping, and utility failures on the plant floor to restore operations swiftly.
• Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance tasks for all electrical assets during the shift.
• Equipment Handling: Oversee operations and troubleshooting of transformers, HT/LT panels, motors, VFDs, DG sets, and plant lighting networks.
• Utility Support: Monitor and maintain electrical infrastructure for critical plant utilities like boilers, compressors, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, before permitting work on electrical systems.
• Reporting & Handover: Maintain shift logs, document electrical breakdown reports, and ensure a smooth operational handover to the next shift supervisor.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Education: Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or PU (Pre-University / 12th Standard) qualification.
• Licensing: Must possess a valid B-Grade or C-Grade Electrical Supervisor License issued by the government licensing board.
• Experience: 7 to 10 years of solid, hands-on electrical maintenance experience on a chemical plant floor.
• Industry Sector: Practical work experience in Textile Chemicals, Speciality Chemicals, or the Petrochemical Industry is mandatory.
• Technical Skills: Expert knowledge in troubleshooting HT/LT panels, VFDs, motor control circuits, plant lighting, earthing networks, and reading complex electrical drawings.
