Maintenance Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of Optical Fiber manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, automation, PLC, and control system-related issues.
• Work on PLC and SCADA systems for fault identification, troubleshooting, monitoring, and process improvement.
• Handle automation systems and controllers from Siemens and Allen-Bradley.
• Diagnose faults related to PLC logic, I/O modules, sensors, drives, HMIs, and control panels.
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of automated production lines and critical plant equipment.
• Ensure minimum equipment downtime and improve machine availability and reliability.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and maintain proper maintenance records.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with Production, Process, Quality, and Utility teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Monitor critical machine parameters and identify opportunities for process and equipment improvement.
• Maintain spare parts requirements and support planning for critical maintenance inventory.
• Participate in breakdown analysis, reliability improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, SOPs, 5S, and plant maintenance procedures.
• Support installation, commissioning, modification, and upgradation of equipment and automation systems whenever required.
