Maintenance Assistant

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance & Operations

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Attend and resolve breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Assist in installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery.
• Maintain proper machine health records and logs.

2. Electrical Maintenance

• Troubleshoot motors, drives (VFDs), PLCs, sensors, control panels, and wiring systems.
• Monitor and maintain electrical systems such as HT/LT panels, transformers, MCCs.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.

3. Mechanical Maintenance

• Handle maintenance of gearboxes, pumps, compressors, conveyors, rollers, bearings, etc.
• Perform alignment, lubrication, and replacement of mechanical parts.
• Support fabrication and modification work when required.

4. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

• Identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with production team to improve machine reliability.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, TPM, 5S).

5. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) guidelines.
• Ensure safe work practices during maintenance activities.
• Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and reports.
• Update spare parts consumption and inventory requirements.
• Prepare daily/weekly maintenance reports.

Skills Required:

• Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and mechanical systems
• Understanding of PLC, VFD, and automation systems
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
