Mainframe Storage Manager / Associate Manager

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage Manager to manage z/OS storage environments, oversee storage administration, and lead the migration of storage management products from CA technologies to IBM software and tools. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Dell PowerMax (PMAX), VTL, DLM, and Data Domain (DD), including replication management and storage migration activities.

1. Mainframe Storage Administration

• Manage and maintain mainframe storage subsystems, including DASD, tape, and virtual storage.
• Perform storage allocation, dataset management, volume configuration, and space optimisation.
• Administer z/OS storage management using DFSMS, DFSMShsm, DFSMSdss, and IDCAMS.
  2. Storage Product Migration
• Lead or support migration from CA storage management products to IBM software and tools.
• Manage migrations such as:
• CA Allocate to IBM TAAM/DFSMS.
• CA-1 Tape Management to IBM DFSMSrmm.
• CA Disk Backup and Restore to DFSMShsm.
• Plan, execute, validate, and troubleshoot migration activities while ensuring minimal service disruption.
  3. Storage Replication Disaster Recovery
• Perform sync confirmation, stop/suspend replication, and personality swap activities using Dell PowerMax, VTL, DLM, and Data Domain.
• Support backup, recovery, storage failover, and disaster recovery (DR) exercises.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with recovery time and recovery point objectives (RTO/RPO).
  4. Capacity Performance Management
• Monitor storage utilisation, forecast capacity requirements, and optimise I/O performance.
• Analyse storage performance trends and resolve bottlenecks.
  5. Installation, Support Incident Management
• Install, maintain, and upgrade storage-related software and utilities.
• Provide L2/L3 support, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware maintenance, firmware updates, and technical support.
  6. Change Management Automation
• Implement changes through the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with security, audit, and organisational standards.
• Develop automation scripts and improve operational efficiency.
