Mainframe Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled Mainframe Developer with 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and related mainframe technologies, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in complex business environments.

Key Responsibilities.

• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and implement Mainframe applications.
• Develop and maintain online and batch applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Optimize application performance and ensure system stability.
• Participate in application modernization and migration initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business users, and stakeholders.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Follow SDLC, Agile, and organizational coding standards.

Required Technical Skills.

• Strong hands-on experience in:
• COBOL
• JCL
• CICS
• DB2
• VSAM
• Experience with Mainframe Utilities:
• File-AID
• Abend-AID
• SORT
• IDCAMS
• SPUFI
• Knowledge of TSO/ISPF and SDSF.
• Experience in batch processing and job scheduling tools.
• Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.
• Exposure to version control and deployment tools such as Endevor or Changeman.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with IMS DB / IMS DC.
• Exposure to Mainframe modernization projects.
• Knowledge of API integration and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Retail, or Healthcare domains.
