Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with 4–6 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with Mainframe technologies, PL/I or COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and IMS-DB.

The candidate will be responsible for application development, enhancement, maintenance, batch processing, database programming, troubleshooting, and production support. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to work effectively with technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise mainframe applications.
• Write and maintain programs using PL/I and/or COBOL.
• Develop and maintain JCL jobs for batch processing.
• Work extensively with DB2 databases and SQL.
• Develop and optimize database queries and application programs.
• Work with VSAM files and IMS-DB environments.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform application debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot batch failures and production issues.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
• Support application releases and production deployments.
• Prepare technical documentation for application changes.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, infrastructure teams, and other developers.
• Participate in modernization and enhancement initiatives where required.
