Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting mission-critical mainframe applications while ensuring high performance, reliability, and adherence to organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.
• Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
• Develop and enhance batch and online programs.
• Create and maintain JCLs for batch processing and scheduling.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot DB2 SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Work with VSAM files including KSDS, ESDS, and RRDS datasets.
• Perform unit testing, system testing, and defect resolution.
• Support production deployments and provide post-implementation support.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of hands-on Mainframe development experience.
• Strong programming experience in COBOL.
• Extensive experience in JCL development and batch processing.
• Strong knowledge of DB2 database design, SQL, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with VSAM files and utilities.
• Knowledge of Mainframe utilities such as IDCAMS, SORT, File-AID, and SPUFI.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in application support, incident management, and production support.
• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CICS development.
• Knowledge of Endevor, Changeman, or other source control tools.
• Exposure to Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, or Financial Services domains.
• Experience with scheduling tools such as Control-M, CA7, or Tivoli.
• Understanding of Mainframe modernization initiatives.
