Mainframe DB2 Manager / Associate Manager

We are seeking an experienced IBM DB2 on z/OS System Administrator / DBA with hands-on experience migrating CA DB2 utilities to IBM DB2 Utilities Suite for z/OS. The successful candidate will manage DB2 subsystem administration, database performance, backup and recovery, software migration, and production support to ensure database availability, integrity, and optimal performance.

• Lead or support migration from CA DB2 utilities to IBM DB2 Utilities Suite for z/OS.

• Ensure data integrity, compatibility, and minimal disruption during migration.
  2. DB2 System Administration
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 subsystems on z/OS.
• Manage DB2 databases, tablespaces, tables, indexes, and subsystem configurations.
• Support DB2 version upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities.
  3. Database Performance Tuning
• Monitor DB2 performance and optimise SQL queries, access paths, and resource utilisation.
• Perform performance tuning using DB2 tools and utilities.
• Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks.
  4. Backup, Recovery Utilities
• Execute DB2 utilities, including REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, COPY, and RECOVER.
• Manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
• Troubleshoot database recovery and utility-related issues.
  5. Production Support Change Management
• Provide L2/L3 support for DB2 incidents and resolve issues within agreed SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Manage database changes, releases, and migrations through established CAB processes.
• Maintain technical documentation and change records.
  6. Security, Monitoring Collaboration
• Manage DB2 security, access controls, and audit compliance.
• Monitor storage, buffer pools, and resource utilisation; support capacity planning.
• Collaborate with application, z/OS, and infrastructure teams on releases, integrations, and data migrations.
