Mainframe Automation Engineer

Job Description

we are looking for a highly motivated Mainframe Test Engineer with 3-9 years of experience in Mainframe Application Testing. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Mainframe technologies, test execution, batch validation, backend data validation, defect management, and end-to-end testing within Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, or Telecom domains.

The candidate will be responsible for validating Mainframe applications, executing test cases, analyzing batch jobs, performing data validation, and ensuring quality delivery across multiple releases.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform Functional, Integration, System, Regression, and End-to-End testing.
• Validate Mainframe batch jobs and file processing.
• Execute and monitor JCL jobs and validate outputs.
• Perform DB2 and SQL-based backend data validation.
• Validate VSAM files and Mainframe datasets.
• Track, log, and manage defects using JIRA/ALM.
• Support SIT, UAT, and Production Validation activities.
• Coordinate with Development, Business, and Testing teams.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Prepare Test Summary Reports and test execution metrics.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 3-9 years of relevant Mainframe Testing experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in JCL, DB2, VSAM, and Mainframe validation.
• Experience in Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Telecom, or Financial Services projects.
• Knowledge of Mainframe tools like Reflection, File-Aid, ISPF, SDSF, Endevor, Changeman is preferred.
• Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, Defect Lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
