Machine Operator Cutting Machines

Role & responsibilities

• Operate and run gear cutting machines for machining, trials and customer requirements.
• Set up machines, tooling, fixtures and workpieces for gear cutting operations.
• Understand and operate CNC/control systems used in gear cutting machines.
• Conduct machine trials and verify machine performance before dispatch.
• Perform PDI activities including machine functionality, accuracy, operating parameters and basic quality checks.
• knowledge about calculation of cutting technology.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong practical knowledge of gear cutting machine technology and operations.
• Hands-on experience operating CNC/gear cutting machines.
• Knowledge of gear manufacturing processes such as hobbing, shaping, skiving or related gear cutting processes will be an advantage.
• Understanding of cutting tools, work holding, fixtures and cutting parameters.
• Ability to perform machine setup, prove-out and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of gear terminology, gear geometry and machining requirements.
