Lumio - Category Manager - Electronics

About the role:

We are looking for a data-driven, commercially sharp, and growth-oriented Category Manager / Assistant Category Manager to own and scale our category portfolio. In this role, you will hold end-to-end responsibility for the category's Profit & Loss (P&L), from identifying market gaps and formulating entry strategies to managing vendor relations, pricing, and supply planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Market Entry:

- Formulate market entry strategies for new categories through rigorous market sizing, opportunity mapping, and competitive intelligence gathering.

- Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and design the strategic roadmap to hit revenue and margin targets.

Category & Portfolio Management:

- Identify market gaps, customer pain points, and emerging trends to introduce high-potential products/sub-categories.

- Define product positioning, pricing structures, and promotional strategies to maximize both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.

Vendor Management & Negotiation:

- Identify, onboard, and manage key suppliers and manufacturing partners.

- Drive end-to-end negotiations on commercial terms, margins, payment cycles, and supply agreements.

Supply Planning & Operations:

- Collaborate with demand forecasting and supply chain teams to ensure optimal inventory health, minimizing out-of-stock situations and liquidating slow-moving stock.

What We Are Looking For:

- Experience: 1 - 3 years of hands-on experience in Category Management or a closely related commercial role.

- Domain Expertise: Prior experience in vendor-facing roles. Experience managing Electronics categories is highly preferred.

- P&L Ownership: Solid exposure to or understanding of retail math, margin structures, and overall P&L management.

- Analytical Rigor: A highly analytical mindset. You don't just look at data; you translate it into actionable business decisions.

Technical & Tool Skills:

- Data Extraction & Analysis: Strong SQL skills to query databases independently and advanced MS Excel proficiency (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex modeling).

- Programming: Basic knowledge of Python (for data manipulation/automation) is a strong plus.

- Storytelling & Presentation: High proficiency in MS PowerPoint to synthesize complex data and present strategic proposals to leadership.

Selection criteria:

- 1 screening round followed by an assignment. Post assignment submission 2-3 rounds of interviews with multiple stakeholders.
