Logistic Assistant

Role & responsibilities

Follow up with transporters and drivers regarding vehicle placement and dispatch schedules.

• Assist in day-to-day logistics and dispatch activities.
• Coordinate with transporters, drivers, warehouse staff, and internal departments.
• Support the preparation and verification of dispatch documents, delivery challans, invoices, and consignment notes.
• Ensure materials are packed, labelled, and dispatched as per instructions.
• Maintain records of goods dispatched, goods received, and pending deliveries.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials, wherever required.
• Ensure proper handling and movement of materials to avoid damage or loss.
• Follow company procedures and safety guidelines during logistics operations.

• Prepare and maintain consignment-related documents and records.
• Verify material quantities, item descriptions, and destination details before dispatch.
• Ensure consignment numbers, LR (Lorry Receipt) numbers, and transporter details are recorded correctly.
• Coordinate with transporters for consignment booking and timely delivery.
• Maintain records of pending, delivered, returned, and damaged consignments.
• Assist in resolving consignment-related issues, including shortages, damages, and delivery delays.
• Ensure all delivery documents are collected, filed, and maintained properly

Skills Required

• Basic reading, writing, and numerical skills.
• Basic knowledge of mobile phone usage and WhatsApp communication.
• Willingness to learn logistics and dispatch processes.
• Good coordination and follow-up skills.
• Ability to maintain simple records and documents.
• Responsible, punctual, and disciplined approach to work.
• Willingness to work in a plant, warehouse, or dispatch environment.

Preferred candidate profile

• Candidates who have not completed their 10th standard or have dropped out after the 12th standard may apply.
• Freshers are welcome; prior logistics or warehouse experience will be an advantage.
• Candidates should be willing to perform operational and documentation-related tasks.
• Candidates must be willing to work at either Mangalore or Vapi, depending on the vacancy.
