Linux Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers in enterprise environments.
• Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or other Linux distributions.
• Perform OS installation, upgrades, patching, and security remediation.
• Handle user and group administration, permissions, sudo access, and file-system management.
• Monitor server health, CPU, memory, disk utilization, and overall system performance.
• Troubleshoot Linux OS, application, storage, network connectivity, and performance issues.
• Manage LVM, file systems, disk partitions, mounts, and storage capacity.
• Configure and troubleshoot Linux services, processes, and scheduled jobs.
• Work with SSH, DNS, NFS, TCP/IP, and other Linux/networking services.
• Perform server builds, configuration changes, and decommissioning activities.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
• Perform log analysis and root cause analysis for critical incidents.
• Create and maintain Shell/Bash scripts for routine administration and automation.
• Work closely with application, database, network, storage, VMware, and security teams.
• Handle incidents, service requests, problem management, and change activities.
• Provide support for production Linux environments and participate in 24x7/on-call support as required.
• Maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
