Role Description The Lighting Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Thiruvananthapuram. This role involves developing detailed lighting concepts and schemes for architectural and interior projects, from initial concept through to final documentation. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lighting layouts, calculations, and specifications, selecting fixtures and controls, and coordinating with architects, interior designers, and engineers to integrate lighting solutions into overall project designs. The Lighting Designer will review drawings, participate in client meetings, support mock-ups and site visits, and ensure that designs meet aesthetic, functional, and sustainability objectives while adhering to project budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Lighting Design and Architectural Lighting for a range of project types.
• Experience with Lighting and Lighting Control systems, including fixture selection and control strategies.
• Background or familiarity with Interior Design to align lighting solutions with spatial and material concepts.
• Proficiency in relevant design and visualization tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, SketchUp, or similar).
• Bachelor’s degree in lighting design, architecture, interior design, engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of sustainability principles, energy codes, and best practices in efficient lighting design is an advantage.
