Role Responsibilities

• Role Overview: We are seeking an Executive Director to join our Global Commercial Legal team, leading complex commercial negotiations and providing strategic legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions including India, Asia-ex-Japan, EMEA, and US. This senior role requires a seasoned commercial lawyer with deep technical expertise who can independently manage sophisticated global transactions while working collaboratively with regional legal teams and senior business stakeholders worldwide.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • a. Contract negotiation and advisory
  • Lead and independently manage high-value, complex commercial negotiations across regions (e.g., complex/high value technology and infrastructure agreements, service agreements, real estate and facilities transactions, etc.)
  • Structure and negotiate sophisticated multi-jurisdictional commercial agreements and key partnerships
  • Identify and highlight risks to various stakeholders for approval
  • Support multiple business units on complex day-to-day legal matters and manage legal risk across commercial operations
  • Provide counsel on regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Partner with regional lawyers and business partners across EMEA, US, and Asia-ex-Japan
  • Lead and direct major technology transformation and digital innovation legal initiatives
  • Serve as trusted advisor to senior management
  • Build and maintain relationships with external counsel, regulators, and industry bodies
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with risk, compliance, and business teams
  • Manage escalated legal matters and crisis situations
• b. Team leadership and development
  • Lead and mentor a team of 10 to 15 legal professionals and provide training and guidance to the team members on complex matters
  • Drive knowledge sharing and best practices
  • Contribute to talent development and succession planning initiatives
  • Foster collaborative culture within legal function

Qualifications

Mandatory Required Qualifications

• LLB/LLM or equivalent legal qualification in relevant jurisdiction
• 15+ years of experience with significant focus on complex commercial negotiations
• Proven track record of leading complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions
• Experience in driving transformation and innovation initiatives
