Lenskart - Backend Engineer - Java Technologies

About The Role We are looking for a highly motivated Backend Engineer who is passionate about building scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that power critical business functions while driving engineering excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate complex business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend systems and services.
• Own the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirement analysis to production deployment.
• Build high-quality, extensible, and maintainable applications while ensuring timely delivery.
• Drive adoption and evolution of engineering best practices, coding standards, and development tools.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams to deliver efficient solutions.
• Lead architecture and design discussions and provide end-to-end technical solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in product, process, and technology.
• Manage and participate in bug triage, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
• Monitor product quality, performance, and delivery metrics, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, open-source frameworks, and industry trends.
• Contribute to reusable frameworks, standards, and solution methodologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software design patterns.
• Proven experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with SOA / microservices architecture and N-tier application development.
• Good understanding of database design, SQL optimization, and development using MySQL / MariaDB.
• Experience with messaging and queueing platforms such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-optimization skills.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Experience working in high-growth product organizations.
