As Vice President of Software Engineering, you will lead the engineering strategy, architecture, and delivery of Escalent's SaaS products. You will be responsible for building scalable, secure, cloud-native applications while accelerating the adoption of Generative AI and intelligent agents across our product portfolio.
This is a highly strategic leadership role that combines modern software engineering with AI innovation. You'll partner closely with Product, AI & Innovation, UX, Infrastructure and Business Leaders to create differentiated products that delight clients and transform the way research is conducted.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple software engineering teams responsible for the design, development and delivery of Escalent's SaaS applications.
- Define and execute the engineering strategy supporting our next generation of AI-enabled products.
- Embed Generative AI, intelligent agents, automation, and conversational experiences into our product ecosystem.
- Drive modern engineering practices including cloud-native architecture, API-first development, CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing and observability.
- Partner closely with Product Management to deliver high-quality customer-centric releases.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build and mentor high-performing engineering leaders and teams across multiple geographies.
- Ensure platform scalability, security, reliability and operational excellence.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into practical business capabilities.
- Work closely with the executive leadership team to align technology investments with business strategy.
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of large engineering organizations.
- Proven experience building and scaling enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native application development.
- Strong understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, distributed systems and microservices.
- Demonstrated experience incorporating Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, or machine learning into software products.
- Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for developing engineering talent and creating high-performing teams.
- Experience building AI-powered SaaS products.
- Familiarity with modern AI frameworks, agentic architectures, MCP, RAG, vector databases and LLM orchestration.
- Experience within research, analytics, data, or information services organizations.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks, cloud data platforms, and event-driven architectures.
