Location: Pune, India

Role Description

• The FIC Shared Services department is responsible for building cutting edge applications that are used across all FIC business units, driving consolidation and spearheading first class design and implementation. We are looking for an experiencedVice President - Senior React Engineer / Front-End Engineering Leadto join our FIC Technology team in India.
• This is asenior hands-on engineering rolefor an experienced technologist who combines deep React and front-end expertise with strong architectural judgement and technical leadership. You will design and build enterprise-grade applications, influence engineering standards and architecture, mentor engineers and collaborate with global technology and business teams.

Your key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliverscalable, high-performance React applications.
• Provide technical leadership as well as contribute hands-on to production-quality code.
• Define and influencefront-end architecture, engineering patterns and development standards.
• Build reusable components, libraries and frameworks usingReact, TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• Make pragmatic technical decisions across application architecture, state management, API integration, performance, security and maintainability.
• Work closely with back-end engineers to design and integrateRESTful APIs and enterprise services.
• Drive automated testing and engineering-quality practices using tools such asJest and React Testing Library.
• Conduct technical design and code reviews and provide guidance on complex engineering problems.
• Identify and address performance, scalability, technical debt and production stability concerns.
• Contribute to the modernisation of existing applications and migration from legacy front-end technologies.
• Mentor engineers and help strengthen engineering capability across the team.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX, architecture, QA, DevOps and business stakeholders across global teams.
• Take end-to-end technical ownership from design and implementation through deployment and production support.
  

Your skills and experience

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience developing enterprise web applications.
• Strong recent hands-on development experience withReact.
• Advanced knowledge ofTypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3.
• Deep understanding of React architecture, Hooks, component design and reusable application patterns.
• Strong experience in integrating front-end applications withREST APIs.
• Strong understanding of client-side architecture, design patterns and application performance.
• Experience with automated testing usingJest, React Testing Library or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience withGit, CI/CD pipelines and modern build/package tooling.
• Understanding of secure web-development principles and enterprise application security.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical and production issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and lead technical discussions.
• Experience working withinAgile engineering environments.
• Ability to produce well-tested, documented, high-performance code to tight schedules.

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
