What you’ll own

We are looking for a hands-on, technically strong Software Developer Lead to guide the design, development, and delivery of modern backend and API-driven solutions for our global payment processing platforms.

In this role, you will combine strong software engineering expertise with technical leadership. You will lead solution design, drive engineering best practices, collaborate with product and architecture teams, mentor developers, and ensure delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable services across cloud-native and API-led platforms.

What you’ll bring

• Languages: .Net, Java, Typescript, Javascript
• Years of Experience: 8+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on backend engineering and at least 2+ years leading developers, technical workstreams, or complex solution deliveries.
• Technical Leadership: Ability to lead design discussions, review technical approaches, break down complex requirements, and guide developers through delivery while maintaining quality, security, and maintainability.
• Programming Expertise: Strong proficiency in backend development using Java Spring Boot, Node.js, or similar modern programming frameworks, with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration patterns.
• Engineering Best Practices: Experience with code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, secure coding practices, performance tuning, observability, and production support for business-critical applications.
• Cloud and API Experience: Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, and experience designing or consuming APIs using API gateways, security policies, authentication, and authorization standards.
• Communication and Ownership: Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to engineering teams, product partners, and non-technical stakeholders.

It’s a bonus if you have

• Payments or Fintech Domain: Experience working in payments, banking, fintech, or other high-volume transaction processing environments, with exposure to security, compliance, and operational resilience expectations.
• API Gateway and Cloud-Native Platforms: Hands-on experience with Apigee Edge, Apigee X, or similar API management platforms, along with containerized services, Kubernetes, event-driven architecture, or cloud-native application delivery.
• People Development: Prior experience mentoring developers, onboarding new team members, improving engineering standards, or helping teams adopt modern development practices.
