Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Lead several medium- to large-sized projects with small teams.
• Represent the team and be able to speak to the architecture and the technology used by people outside of their team.
• Able to come up to speed on a new technology quickly and help others learn.
• Work in an agile environment to design, develop, and maintain multiple web-based applications running on-premises and in the cloud.
• Produce high-quality, efficient, coding standards-compliant, thoroughly tested application code and modules.
• Provide architectural guidance, input, and feedback for new applications and major enhancements of existing applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve application defects in both test and production environments.
• Lead production deployments of the applications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior application developers.
• Work closely with Business Partners/Product Owners to refine and estimate user stories for new application functionality.

Requirements:

• Must be knowledgeable regarding design patterns, design best practices, and architecture of multi-tier applications.
• Experience in VB. NET, C#, API, Windows Service, WCF, Web Service, SSRS, MS SQL Server, SSIS, Power BI, Azure, and CI/CD.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with teams who may be remote.
• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer working in an Agile environment, preferably Scrum.
• 5+ years of professional experience with SQL in a relational database environment.
• You don't need to be a SQL expert, but you should be proficient in SQL and able to write high-performance queries.
• Be able to help less experienced engineers with writing better queries.
• Must have 5+ years' experience with performance measurement and optimization of (web) applications and queries.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and a service bus of some sort will be necessary.
• Experience/exposure to healthcare IT and its HL7 and X12 EDI is a plus.
• Must have superior problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in multiple programming languages with good database and SQL skills.
• Good understanding and/or experience with API integration to enable automation across different systems.
