Lead Software Engineer - Node.js + GraphQL

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Node.js Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and enterprise-grade solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and cloud technologies, with a strong understanding of frontend architecture, backend services, application security, performance optimization, and software design principles.

As a Lead Developer, you will play a key role in designing technical solutions, mentoring team members, driving architectural decisions, implementing best practices, and delivering high-quality, secure, and maintainable applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.js and NestJS, writing reusable, testable, scalable, and efficient backend code
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs for frontend services and third-party integrations
• Build secure authentication and authorization systems using JWT and role-based access control
• Integrate external services, APIs, and cloud-based solutions, while implementing logging, monitoring, caching, and error-handling mechanisms
• Optimize API performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks to ensure high availability and responsiveness
• Design and maintain database schemas and data models, working extensively with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Optimize database queries and indexing strategies to ensure data integrity, scalability, and high-performance data access
• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging AWS services for hosting, storage, monitoring, and scalability
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment automation, monitoring application performance and troubleshooting production issues
• Write comprehensive unit tests, ensure high test coverage, conduct code reviews, and enforce development best practices using tools such as ESLint and SonarQube
• Apply frontend and backend security best practices to prevent and mitigate Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF/XSRF), and CORS vulnerabilities, including secure JWT token management and authentication workflows
• Design scalable and maintainable software architectures applying SOLID principles and design patterns such as Singleton Pattern, mentor junior and mid-level developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams
  
  

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven experience building large-scale applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Expertise in GraphQL for API design and development
• Background in application architecture and performance optimization
• Skills in testing and cloud deployments
• English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
