The Senior Software Engineer, Backend will be an integral member of our engineering team, responsible for developing, scaling, and maintaining high-availability microservices that process millions of critical heart health measurements. This role directly contributes to AliveCor’s mission of transforming cardiological care by building industry-leading, FDA-cleared software that connects consumers and clinicians with life-saving data. Core Responsibilities

• The Lead Software Engineer on the backend team will be working in the following environments: Go, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, GitHub/Gitlab.
• Responsible for developing industry-leading applications transforming the healthcare industry and consumers use.
• Work with our mobile and front-end teams to build new functionality in our consumer and clinician-facing applications.
• Create and maintain tools used by internal teams for customer service, monitoring, and R&D.
• Maintain and continuously improve our backend infrastructure in order to remedy technical limitations before they become an issue.

AI Enhanced Responsibilities AI Use Case Tools / Platforms Expected Impact Familiarity to with Gen-AI tools Gemini, Claude, Copilot Reduce manual code writing to 10% and improve delivery turn around time by 70-80%.

Required Qualifications

• At least 10 years of relevant software development experience
• Lead-level software engineer ready to take ownership of several backend components.
• Experience building and designing scalable backend systems on AWS .
• Proficient working with Go
• Experience implementing Service Oriented Architecture or micro-services
• Good intuition for weighing trade-offs
• Product instincts, work with our product and design teams to understand customer pain points, come up with solutions, and then prototype, iterate and launch frequently
• Eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies
• Experience with build process automation and CI/CD
• Engineers who can raise the skill level of their teammates.
• Ability to work independently on projects and communicate with cross functional teams to deliver products on time.
• Results-oriented approach to work; willingness to do whatever it takes to help the team.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
