Position Title: Lead / Senior Engineer - Piping

Work Location: DLF, Chennai

Business Unit: Power Business Unit (PBU)
Experience: 11 - 15 Years - Senior Engineer, 16 - 23 Years - Lead Engineer

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Purpose:

• To lead, develop, direct, and organize a team of Sr. Mechanical Design Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, and Designers for all projects.

Job Description:

• Prepare Mechanical design meeting quality and schedule requirements.
• Implement/follow the design process/workflow to meet internal quality, execution and project requirements.
• Implementation of QMS procedures in all stages of design development.
• Utilize relevant PTS, Utility, and International Standards for a particular project.
• Motivate and encourage design and engineering team.
• Ensure clients expectations are realized.
• Archive project documents in line with company recognized Document Management System.
• Engineering estimate and technical proposal for tendering/bidding process.
• Engage in continuous learning and keep updated with relevant standards, codes, and regulations for respective discipline works and project execution.
• Coordinate with other discipline and functional sections for day-to-day operations

Skills Required:

• Good working knowledge on design of Piping system for substations, industries, and plants from concept design to construction drawings. Working knowledge on power department functions w.r.t construction in coordination with other engineering disciplines.
• Experience in preparing basis of design, engineering alternative solutions, BOQs, heat load, static head, pump head, pipe sizing calculations, space planning, mechanical room design, sizing & selection, design complete system air side, water side and DX-systems etc.
• Familiar with relevant codes & standards ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, AIA & HTM codes, International Building Code (IBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Regional Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO), Saudi Building Code (SBC) etc.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of design software HAP & Elite heat load calculations, Building Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD etc. Fair understanding of 3D tools, 3D modelling and DMS.
• Be passionate about mechanical systems and the power environment. Be a creative leader in design and project management. Have excellent technical skills and be able to mentor staff in their own development and the development of projects.
• Good communication skills, both in presentation and documentation with a good command over English.
