Lead SAP Test Automation Engineer (Tricentis Tosca)

Project Description:

Were looking for an experienced SAP Test Automation Lead to drive test automation across SAP-based projects for a global enterprise client. You’ll own the automation approach end to end: strategy, framework design, hands-on Tosca development, and reporting to stakeholders. You’ll also mentor a team of automation engineers. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll split your time between building and maintaining automation yourself and guiding the team and the client toward a scalable, high-quality testing practice.
The client runs a large SAP landscape supporting core business processes. The project covers functional, regression and integration testing for ongoing SAP releases and enhancements. Its goal is to expand and optimize Tricentis Tosca automation and to integrate it into CI/CD pipelines. The team works closely with client functional teams, onsite managers, the tools team, technical stream leads and product owners.

Responsibilities:

Define the test automation strategy, test plan, effort estimates and resource plan for SAP releases.
Design, build and maintain Tosca automation frameworks and reusable test components.
Develop, execute and maintain automated tests for regression, functional and integration testing.
Work with SAP functional teams to identify and prioritize automation opportunities.
Integrate Tosca automation into CI/CD pipelines.
Prepare and run proofs of concept for new automation approaches or tools.
Analyze test results, manage defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
Define and track quality KPIs, and present status reports and test summaries to stakeholders.
Mentor and guide junior automation engineers on best practices.
Act as the subject matter expert for SAP and Tosca automation, and drive continuous improvement.
Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders, partners and cross-functional teams.

Mandatory Skills Description:

9+ years in software testing, with substantial experience in SAP testing and automation.
Strong hands-on Tricentis Tosca experience (ideally 5+ years): script development, execution, maintenance and framework design.
Solid understanding of SAP business processes and modules (SAP ERP / S/4HANA, Fiori) [specific modules TBC].
Proven experience designing and implementing automation frameworks for SAP applications.
Experience writing test automation strategies, test plans, effort estimates and KPI reporting.
Experience integrating Tosca into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Experience leading or mentoring automation engineers.
Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies; test case and defect management.
Direct client-facing experience with onsite managers, product owners and stream leads.
Strong communication skills. English at B2+ / C1.

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

Tricentis certifications (Automation Specialist AS1/AS2, Test Design Specialist TDS1/TDS2, or higher).
SAP certification.
Experience with other SAP testing tools: Tricentis LiveCompare, SAP CBTA/eCATT, Worksoft Certify.
Test management platforms: SAP Solution Manager / Cloud ALM, Jira/Xray, qTest, ALM.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration or upgrade testing.
Tosca API testing and Tosca test data management.
Experience in a consulting or outsourcing delivery model.
