Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead and supervise the complete execution of Double Wall Storage Tank projects for Oil & Gas, Refinery, Tank Farm, and EPC projects. The role involves planning, supervising, and monitoring fabrication, erection, testing, commissioning, and mechanical construction activities while ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with engineering, QA/QC, planning, civil, piping, and client teams to ensure timely completion of projects with the highest quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

Double Wall Tank Fabrication & Erection

• Supervise fabrication and erection of Double Wall Storage Tanks as per approved drawings and project specifications.
• Monitor installation of tank bottom plates, annular plates, shell plates, roof structures, nozzles, manways, and internal components.
• Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, welding quality, dimensional accuracy, and verticality during fabrication and erection.
• Supervise installation of inner tank and outer tank assemblies.
• Coordinate heavy lifting and erection activities safely and efficiently.

Mechanical Construction

• Supervise complete mechanical construction activities related to Double Wall Tanks.
• Coordinate installation of platforms, staircases, handrails, roof structures, piping supports, and structural components.
• Ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and construction procedures.
• Coordinate with civil teams to ensure tank foundation readiness before erection.

Blasting, Painting & Insulation

• Supervise surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting, and protective coating works.
• Monitor insulation installation between inner and outer tanks wherever applicable.
• Ensure all coating and insulation activities comply with project specifications and quality requirements.

Testing & Commissioning

• Coordinate Hydrostatic Testing, Pneumatic Testing, Vacuum Box Testing, and NDT activities (RT, UT, MT & PT).
• Ensure completion of mechanical punch points before commissioning.
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities until project handover.

Project Monitoring & Site Coordination

• Monitor project progress against schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Civil, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, QA/QC, Planning, and Safety departments.
• Resolve technical and execution-related issues during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with project quality standards and HSE requirements.

Client Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.
• Attend progress review meetings, technical discussions, and site inspections.
• Ensure project execution complies with client specifications and contractual requirements.

Engineering & Technical Review

• Review basic engineering, detailed engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
• Ensure execution complies with approved engineering standards and project requirements.
• Maintain project documentation, inspection reports, and construction records.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 10–15 years of relevant experience,Role & responsibilities
