Lead Indirect Tax - Litigation

Role & responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end GST and legacy indirect tax litigation matters across India.
• Draft, review, and file appeals, rectification applications, and writ petitions.
• Coordinate with advocates, consultants, and business stakeholders for effective case management and representation.
• Handle personal hearings and ensure timely submission of responses and documentation.
• Prepare and consolidate quarterly contingent liability statements and annual CARO-related reporting.
• Track regulatory developments and assess the impact of GST and indirect tax law changes on the business.
• Drive litigation MIS, analytics, automation initiatives, and management reporting.
• Support industry representations and strategic engagements with tax authorities and industry bodies

Preferred candidate profile

• Qualified CA (Mandatory)
• 2-5 years of experience in Indirect Taxation and Tax Litigation
• Strong exposure to GST, Excise, Service Tax, VAT/CST, and allied indirect tax matters
• Hands-on experience in appeals, writ petitions, personal hearings, and litigation management
• Exposure to CESTAT, Commissioner Appeals, and Customs-related disputes
• Strong stakeholder management and coordination with advocates, consultants, tax authorities, and business teams
• Experience in tax analytics, contingent liability reporting, and management MIS preparation
