The Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Full Stack Developer & DevOps Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership to our Full Stack and DevOps engineering teams in India. You will be the technical reference connecting architecture, development, cloud/infrastructure, product teams, and client stakeholders while remaining close to code, design decisions, production readiness, and engineering quality.

Your leadership will focus on three pillars

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship - lead design decisions, architecture reviews, code quality, engineering standards, technical problem solving, and the growth of engineers.
• AI-Assisted Engineering - drive practical adoption of generative AI across the software development lifecycle to accelerate delivery, improve quality, automate repetitive work, and strengthen engineering productivity.
• DevOps & Production Excellence - own engineering readiness from code to production, including CI/CD, cloud-native deployment, observability, release governance, security, reliability, and Go-to-Production practices

What Youll Do

Technical Design & Full Stack Engineering

• Lead the architecture and technical roadmap of scalable, secure, maintainable web applications.
• Guide and contribute to front-end engineering using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Lead back-end engineering of enterprise services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Guide data modelling and persistence across relational databases such as SQL Server; exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL technologies is valuable.
• Drive technical trade-off decisions, architecture reviews, code reviews, complex troubleshooting, and engineering standards.
• Promote microservices, API-first and event-driven design principles where appropriate.

AI-Assisted Engineering

• Champion AI-assisted development across design, coding, refactoring, debugging, testing, documentation, and engineering analysis.
• Define practical guardrails and best practices for responsible use of generative AI in software delivery.
• Hands-on experience with modern AI coding tools is expected; strong proficiency with Gemini CLI is highly preferred.

DevOps, Cloud & Go-to-Production

• Lead the design and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
• Guide containerization with Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform and Ansible.
• Own release readiness across staging and production, including validation gates, change controls, security checks, rollback readiness, and enterprise Go-to-Production governance.
• Ensure strong monitoring, logging, observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational reliability.
• Guide cloud-native delivery on GCP and/or enterprise internal cloud platforms.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and upskill Full Stack and DevOps engineers through technical coaching, reviews, and hands-on guidance.
• Build a strong engineering culture around software craftsmanship, automated testing, security-by-design, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with architects, product managers, infrastructure/cloud teams, and business stakeholders.
• Challenge requirements constructively and translate business needs into pragmatic, robust technical solutions.
• Represent Magellan with clients as a trusted technical leader with strong communication, ownership, and service orientation.

What Were Looking For

Experience

• 10 -12 years of professional experience across full stack software engineering, systems engineering, and DevOps/Ops, including proven technical leadership or team leadership responsibilities.
• Strong track record managing complex application lifecycles from architecture and development through production deployment and operations.
• Experience working in enterprise environments with structured release / Go-to-Production governance.
• Consulting or client-facing technical delivery experience is strongly valued.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Core Technical Skills

• Expert-level Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Deep Java and Spring Boot expertise, including enterprise API and service development.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills; SQL Server experience is valuable.
• Strong Git / GitLab and GitLab CI/CD experience.
• Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible experience.
• Strong GCP / cloud-native knowledge and practical experience with observability, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of secure software delivery, DevSecOps principles, automated testing, and release quality.

Good to Have

• MongoDB or other NoSQL database experience.
• Microservices, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, and API-driven design.
• GitOps practices and pipeline/security hardening.
• Cloud / DevOps certifications, architecture credentials, or formal technical leadership training.
