Lead Fixed Assets

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Lead Fixed Assets to manage fixed asset accounting, insurance, inventory and asset movement activities, while ensuring accurate reconciliation, physical verification, depreciation and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.

The role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate asset accounting, compliance, reporting and audit readiness.

Reporting To: VP Finance Controller

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day Fixed Asset Accounting operations and provide guidance on accounting-related matters.
• Ensure timely creation of Internal Orders (IO) / Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and budget allocation.
• Drive timely reconciliation of consumption booking and capitalization processes.
• Coordinate with Technology, IT, FSD and user teams to understand the nature of assets and ensure appropriate depreciation mapping.
• Conduct regular General Ledger (GL) scrutiny to identify and mitigate inaccuracies in financial reporting.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) in compliance with the Companies Act and Income Tax Act, ensuring alignment with SAP GL balances.
• Conduct periodic inventory verification at warehouses and partner locations.
• Lead annual physical verification of fixed assets and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Identify and reconcile asset differences with user teams to mitigate risks related to loss, pilferage and audit observations.
• Ensure periodic updates with insurers to maintain adequate risk coverage for assets.
• Publish timely and accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
• Review and improve existing Management Information Systems (MIS) as required.
• Ensure smooth closure of statutory, tax and internal audits, including IFC certification.
• Participate in finance-led projects and key business initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• CA / CMA / ICWA / ICWAI preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Fixed Asset Accounting in an SAP environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, reconciliation, depreciation and audit processes.
• Experience in handling Fixed Asset Registers, asset capitalization, physical verification and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of SAP PS module will be an added advantage.
• Experience in the telecommunications industry will be an advantage, but is not mandatory.
