Lead Etl Tester

Role & responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ETL, data warehouse, data migration, and data extract testing activities across multiple projects and releases.
• Analyze business requirements, source-to-target mappings, data models, transformation specifications, and interface/extract requirements.
• Define the overall Data/ETL testing strategy, test plan, effort estimation, execution approach, and regression strategy.
• Validate data movement across source staging transformation target outbound extracts/files.
• Perform complex SQL-based validation covering data completeness, accuracy, integrity, transformation rules, referential integrity, duplicates, nulls, and reconciliation.
• Validate full and incremental loads, CDC, historical loads, batch processing, restart/recovery, reject handling, and error scenarios.
• Lead testing of outbound and inbound data extracts, including CSV, delimited, fixed-width, XML, JSON, and other interface/file formats.
• Validate file layouts, headers/trailers, record counts, control totals, naming conventions, data formatting, encryption/compression, and downstream delivery.
• Perform source-to-target reconciliation and identify data discrepancies across large datasets.
• Work closely with ETL/Data Engineering teams to perform root-cause analysis of data quality and transformation issues.
• Design and implement automation solutions for ETL and data validation, reducing dependency on manual SQL and file comparison.
• Establish reusable SQL queries, automation utilities, reconciliation frameworks, and regression suites.
• Support testing of data pipelines running on cloud and modern data platforms.
