Lead Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:

• HVAC System Design Develop tailored HVAC solutions for water treatment plants, pumping stations, and desalination facilities.
• Design Basis Preparation Establish design criteria, environmental conditions, and performance requirements.
• Equipment Sizing Calculate and select appropriate HVAC equipment (chillers, DX system, AHUs, fans, etc.) for efficiency and reliability.
• Layout Development Create HVAC layouts, ducting, and piping schematics suited to plant architecture and process needs.
• Ventilation for Hazardous Areas Design specialized ventilation systems for chemical storage and handling zones to ensure safety.
• Standards Compliance Ensure designs meet ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NFPA, and local regulatory codes.
• Crossdiscipline Coordination – Collaborate with process, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams for integrated solutions.
• Energy Efficiency – Optimize HVAC systems for reduced energy consumption and sustainable operation.
• Installation Support – Provide technical guidance during installation, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
• Testing & Commissioning – Oversee system testing, performance validation, and commissioning to deliver safe, functional HVAC infrastructure.
• Sizing and selection of Fire fighting system (Extingusihers, Hydrants, MVWS, HVWS, Foam Systems, Etc)
• Identification of Hazard category and selection and design of complete fire system in compliance with IS, OISD, NFPA, UL/FM.
• Fire Water demand Calculation and Equipment sizing.
• Fire system Layout and scheme preparation.
• Coordination with Local authorities to get fire approval.
• Coordination with client and consultant for Fire system Design Basis and calculations approval.

Preferred candidate profile

• Extensive Experience – Over 8 years of HVAC design expertise in industrial and water infrastructure projects.
• Technical Proficiency – Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC simulation tools such as HAP and TRACE.
• Communication Strengths – Strong written and oral communication abilities for effective collaboration and reporting.
• Adaptability & Teamwork – Capable of working independently or within teams, prioritizing tasks, and managing highpressure situations with flexibility.
• ProblemSolving Skills – Demonstrated analytical thinking and innovative solutions to complex HVAC design challenges.

COMPETENCY-TECHNICAL

• HVAC System Design Expertise – Skilled in designing HVAC systems including heat load calculations and equipment selection (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans).
• Layout Development – Proficient in preparing ducting and piping layouts, ventilation schemes for hazardous gases, and pressurization systems.
• Cleanroom Standards – Knowledgeable in HVAC requirements for cleanroom environments and specialized applications.
• Regulatory Familiarity – Wellversed in ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NFPA, and local codes to ensure compliance and safety.
• Technical Documentation – Experienced in reviewing vendor drawings, preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and ensuring design accuracy.
• Commissioning Protocols – Handson involvement in system commissioning, testing, and validation to meet performance standards.
