Lead Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Java Spark Engineer to drive the design and development of scalable, cloud-native applications. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development expertise, stakeholder engagement, and coordination across onshore and offshore teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot,vue.js, Apache Spark, cloud technologies, and modern AI capabilities with the ability to lead end-to-end application development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable applications.
• Architect and develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Spark, and Microservices.
• Design and optimize database solutions across relational and NoSQL platforms.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and ensure database performance.
• Work with PostgreSQL for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Develop and optimize large-scale data processing pipelines using Apache Spark.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS and GCP cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to define technical solutions.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Mentor and guide development teams across onshore and offshore locations.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, release planning, and production support.
• Support CI/CD implementation and DevOps best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring system reliability.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Java.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Strong hands-on experience in:
• Backend Technologies: Spring Boot, Tomcat
• Data Processing: Apache Spark, Distributed Data Processing
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
• Version Control & Collaboration: Git
• Web & Application Development: RESTful APIs, Microservices Development
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable systems.
• Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.

Good to Have

• Experience with large-scale data processing and ETL workflows.
• Exposure to front-end technologies such as Angular, React, Vue.js, or similar.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of LLMs, AI frameworks, and AI-powered application development.
• Experience with vector databases, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and AI copilots.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with C++.
• Experience with Ray.io.
• Exposure to financial services, fintech, or large-scale enterprise applications.
