Lead Engineer

Job Summary


Responsibilities

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and methods.
• Know-how of engineering change process.
• Understanding of the product range and exposure to field failure issues for such products.
• Good understanding of basic mechanical design parameters such as dimensions, tolerances, stiffness, strength, and impact resistance.
• Proficiency in sheet metal part design, integration of plastic parts design, so that design will be in accordance with the characteristics and limitations of the manufacturing process.
• Should have understanding of the processes of manufacturing and welding processes on sheet metal, especially with aluminum.
• Preferred to have experience designing and validating solar/enclosure design (not mandatory).
• Ability to understand various standards and incorporate standard requirements into the design.
• Knowledge of tolerance management.
• Value engineering/analysis knowledge (must have).
• Additional Requisite (Preferable):
• Should have experience in cross-functional team working with manufacturing plant.
• Should lead CAD engineers/draftspersons.
• Ability to understand the root cause of the failures/troubleshooting.
• Should be a go-getter character.
• Mechanical CAD knowledge: Should be proficient in SolidWorks.
• Tolerance analysis knowledge.
