As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.
    Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
    Role Overview
As a Lead/Staff Product Security Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for the design, development, deployment, and support of security tools and platforms used for product security and vulnerability management. You will work across the full stack to build scalable applications, backend services, APIs, automation frameworks, dashboards, and integrations. You will independently understand business requirements, define technical solutions, and drive projects from architecture and development through testing, deployment, and production support with minimal direction. Your primary focus will be developing and leading software solutions that improve the efficiency, scalability, and visibility of security operations. You will support vulnerability management teams by developing tools for vulnerability data processing, workflow automation, analysis, reporting, remediation tracking, and integration with engineering systems. You will build AI-assisted capabilities for security and software engineering workflows, including intelligent data analysis, classification, summarization, recommendation, developer assistance, and workflow automation. You will evaluate and apply AI, LLM, and agentic approaches to create secure, reliable, and maintainable enterprise solutions. You will work with source code, build systems, CI/CD pipelines, software development tools, and security data. You may contribute to capabilities involving vulnerability detection, static analysis, secure coding, software composition analysis, and related product security workflows. As a Lead/Staff Engineer, you will establish technical direction, lead architecture and design decisions, mentor engineers, drive engineering best practices, and coordinate delivery across multiple teams. You will be accountable for building high-quality, secure, scalable, observable, and maintainable solutions.
    Required Qualifications
    • Strong experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting production-grade full-stack applications and engineering platforms.
    • Strong programming experience in Python and proficiency in C, C++, Java, or another programming language.
    • Experience developing backend services, REST APIs, databases, frontend applications, automation frameworks, and enterprise integrations.
    • Experience designing scalable, secure, maintainable, and observable software systems.
    • Experience building automation for security, software engineering, data processing, or operational workflows.
    • Experience working with Linux environments, Git, source code, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Experience integrating tools with ticketing systems, scanners, static analysis platforms, dashboards, cloud services, or enterprise applications.
    • Experience developing or supporting security tools used for vulnerability management, security analysis, remediation tracking, or reporting.
    • Understanding of vulnerability management concepts, including vulnerability intake, triage, applicability, exploitability, prioritization, and remediation.
    • Experience applying AI, LLMs, Generative AI, or agentic AI to software development, security analysis, automation, or developer workflows.
    • Understanding of secure AI application design, including data protection, access control, prompt security, output validation, and human oversight.
    • Familiarity with static analysis, secure coding practices, software composition analysis, SBOMs, or vulnerability detection.
    • Ability to independently understand business requirements, define technical solutions, and deliver projects with minimal guidance.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive execution across multiple teams.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience building AI-native security tools, intelligent developer tools, or agent-based automation systems.
    • Familiarity with static analysis tools such as Klocwork, Parasoft, Semgrep, or similar tools.
    • Experience with LLM orchestration, RAG, MCP servers, tool-using agents, or evaluation frameworks.
    • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native development, and deployment automation.
    • Experience integrating security tools with CI/CD and developer workflows.
    • Knowledge of symbolic execution, fuzzing, vulnerability detection, or software security analysis.
