Lead Engineer - I_ETL Testing

Job Summary

As a Lead Engineer - ETL Testing, you will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and Cloud platforms. You will focus on data validation, transformation testing, and quality assurance of data products.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test data for data pipelines.
• Validate ETL/ELT processes, including data mapping, transformations, and SCD models.
• Validate Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) and business transformation rules.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks using SQL.
• Validate Snowflake data pipelines, tables, views, and transformations.
• Develop Python scripts for test automation and data validation.
• Experience analyzing ETL mapping documents
• Perform source-to-target data reconciliation using SQL and DataGaps.
• Manage defect lifecycle (logging, triage, resolution, and verification)
• Create and execute strategies and test cases for applications that use ETL components.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Healthcare SMEs.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide regular status updates.

Educational Qualifications

• Engineering Degree - BE/ME/BTech/MTech/BSc/MSc.
• Technical certification in multiple technologies is desirable.
• Snowflake or Healthcare domain certifications are a plus

Skills

Mandatory Technical Skills:

• Hands on experience in ETL/Data Warehouse testing and data validation
• Expertise in Snowflake and advanced SQL Queries
• Strong SQL expertise (complex queries, joins, aggregations)
• Hands-on experience in Cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure/AWS/GCP
• Python scripting for test automation or data validation
• Experience in data pipeline tools (ADF, Informatica)
• Knowledge of BI/report testing (Power BI, Tableau)
• Understanding of data models, SCD concepts, and data transformations
• Experience in test case design, execution, and defect management
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and data validation
• Familiarity with tools like Jira/Azure DevOps
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Healthcare Domain Expertise (Mandatory)

Good to Have Skills:

• Exposure to healthcare domain, data governance, or compliance
• Experience in automation frameworks or CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in HIPAA-compliant data testing environments is preferred
