Lead Engineer (Full-Stack / Platform)

About us We build AI governance and visibility tooling — Guardian AI (LLM governance), Shadow AI (employee AI-tool visibility), LLM Observability, and an LLM FinOps Optimizer — for enterprises that need to see and control how AI is used inside their walls.

The role You'll be the most senior engineer under the CTO and the technical owner of our platform. You'll set engineering standards, drive architecture on the hardest problems, and ship across the stack. Near-term focus is deepening Shadow AI: expanding detection/parser coverage and building a first-class integration between our OpenTelemetry observability backend and Shadow AI telemetry so we can ship high-value cross-signal use cases.

What you'll own

• Architecture and delivery across our backend monorepo: Next.js 14 (Pages Router) + tRPC UI, plus BullMQ/RabbitMQ-driven worker services.
• Our dual-database model: PostgreSQL (Prisma) for config/RBAC/state, ClickHouse for trace/observation/score telemetry at scale.
• The OTel ⇄ Shadow AI data integration — unifying network/agent/extension visibility with trace telemetry and turning it into product use cases.
• Expanding Shadow AI visibility: new AI-tool detection signatures, parser coverage, and the surfaces that present them.
• Engineering quality: code review, standards, mentoring the frontend engineer, and raising the bar as we grow.
• Coordinating delivery across our native clients (macOS/Windows agents, browser extension) and SDKs — owning the contracts even where specialists do the implementation.

You should have

• 3-5+ years building production software, including ownership of a non-trivial system end to end.
• Deep TypeScript/Node.js, and real comfort across both frontend (React/Next.js) and backend services.
• Strong data instincts — relational + a columnar/analytics store (ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake, Druid, or similar); you understand the difference and design for it.
• Production AWS/Kubernetes experience and an IaC/GitOps mindset (Terraform, Helm).
• A track record of turning ambiguous product goals into shipped architecture, and of making other engineers better.

Nice to have

• OpenTelemetry / observability pipelines, trace ingestion at scale.
• Security, DLP, or endpoint-visibility product experience.
• Worked in a fast-moving startup as an early/founding engineer.
