Lead Engineer - Electrical (Jio World Centre, Mumbai)

Job purpose

The Lead Engineer Electrical is responsible for managing entire electrical system installed at JWC. He is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and modifications of electrical system. He will ensure that all the electrical systems at JWC are functional and performing as per its design.

Job Accountabilities

• Maintaining and managing the site issues and complaints related to Electrical system.
• 100 % Up time of electrical system, covering GIS HT panel, Distribution transformers, Main LT Panel, Diesel Generator, UPS, Inverters, MDB & SDB, Bus-duct, Earthing & Lightning system, Isolation transformers.
• Check performance and troubleshoot the electrical system e.g HT/LT switchgear, Transformers, UPS, DG.Earth pits, Inverters, Isolation transformers etc.
• Ensure the installations are as per drawings. Enforcing and maintaining engineering Standards in operating and maintaining facility.
• Ensuring quality hand over, take over (HOTO) of all systems, drawings and manuals in physical as well as digital form of records.
• Ensure that operation and maintenance documents such as standard operating procedures, check list, PPM schedule, and DLP/AMC tracker are updated. Should be well versed with SAP operation and ensure all Electrical PPM-related documentation and tracking are accurately maintained in the SAP system through PM module .
• Implement TPM for Electrical distribution system /assets with focus on MTBR and MTTR recording.
• Ensure strict adherence to SLA /KPI in Operations and Maintenance of Electrical Assets.
• Ensure operational snag reports are made by testing the electrical systems.
• Create system connection drawings and functional descriptions.
• Supervise the team of Sr Engineers / Engineers for assigned work and monitor the progress of the work.
• Ensure maintenance and testing schedules for electrical system carried out as per schedule.
• Take necessary steps and provide suggestions for product up-gradation and maintenance.
• Monitoring and controlling energy costs. Monitoring of Maximum Demand, Power factor and Open Access.
• Troubleshoot the issues as raised by user department with regards to the various electrical system.
• Provide timely feedback to external and internal customers for correction and improvement in electrical system operations.
• Prepare technical reports or documentation such as deviation reports, testing protocols, and trend analysis.
• Must comply with JWC Health and Safety rules and the Life Safety Code.
• Attendance of all meetings with all the stake-holders, as required.
• Environmental, Sustainability and Safety performance and mentoring to downline teams
• Achieve goal of Zero Accident, Zero Complaints & Zero equipment Down Time
• Ensure PPM Compliance and AMC vendor tracking sheets are maintained
• Monitor & ensure the team follows SOPs, Records Log Sheets; Verify Check Lists & Promptly makes sensible entries in Log Book in line with Service Delivery Plans.
• Monitor and ensure Annual Shutdowns, equipment changeovers are completed as per schedule.
• Ensure training modules being prepared and undertake approval / review of various Training modules.
• Ensure 100% compliance to Service Delivery as per plan.
• Ensure monthly training is conducted for the technical team.
• Ensure co-ordination with statutory authorities for site specific certification in time
• Ensure spares/consumables list and par stock are being maintained .Ensure monthly electrical R&M expenditure is within the budget
• Lead energy management initiatives, power quality monitoring, and sustainability-driven optimization projects.
• Ensure timely submission of requisitions for Open Access (OA) power based on detailed analysis of past consumption trends and future business requirements.
• Support energy audit, statutory inspections, and ensure zero non-compliance.
• Assist in sustainability data reporting, documentation, and tracking of energy-related KPIs.
• Support activities related to Green Building and other certifications (e.g., IGBC, LEED, GRIHA, ISO) by providing technical inputs, compliance documentation, and participating in audits and assessments.

Skills/Competencies Required

• Knowledge of Electrical Engineering disciplines
• Knowledge of GIS HT panel, Distribution transformers, Main LT Panel, Diesel Generator, UPS, Inverters, MDB & SDB, Bus-duct, Earthing & Lightning system, Isolation transformers etc.
• Very proficient with computers, operating systems and software with some understanding of IT networks
• The ability to absorb technical system / product knowledge and provide training to others
• Strong communication skills with command of the English language (both written and oral).
• Strong eye for detail and identifying loopholes.
• Ability to manage a sense of urgency and timelines.
• Ability to demonstrate problem solving and ability to handle various projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• A recognized Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with a recognized Degree in Engineering.
