Position Name: Lead Design Engineer

Role Summary:
Responsible for design and drafting of equipment, tooling, and conveying systems. Collaborates with project and site teams for drawing management, BOM generation, and manufacturability checks.
What Youll Do:
- Work with project and site management teams on drawing management, checking, and BOM preparation
- Check drawing attributes as per checklist (description, notes, weight, material, size, BOM)
- Monitor, compile, and report Key Performance Initiatives (KPI)
- Check design for manufacturability and assembly
- Perform tolerance stack-up, clash checks, and select alternate materials
- Calculate welding length and paint surface area
- Conduct work content estimation
What We re Looking For (Must-Haves):
- Good knowledge of design and BOM generation
- Experience in design and drafting of equipment, tooling, sheet metal, machining, structure, and piping components
- Understanding of DFM, DFA, DFS, tolerance stack-up, clash checks, limits and fits
- Knowledge of various material standards and equivalents
- Experience with Creo 7.0 or higher, Excel, Access, and MS Office
- Knowledge of conveyor and conveying systems, and different conveying standards (IS/DIN/Others)
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Team player with effective interpersonal skills and organizational skills
- Ability to solve problems and make quick decisions
Good to Have (Optional - only if mentioned):
- Experience in Steel Production System / IHM equivalent
- Experience working in EOT Crane projects
- Experience with PLM-Windchill
Qualifications:
B.E. / B. Tech (Mechanical / Industrial / Production/ Automotive)
