Lead Data Migration Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform gap analysis on incoming data sets, offering guidance to clients on how to handle gaps and other data related challenges
• Quickly troubleshoot complex technical issues and roll out fixes with minimal bugs
• Map incoming data fields to the Q2 online banking platform through the creation of data filters and/or translations to ensure the data fits the Q2 model
• Communicate complex mapping challenges or date related issues to clients
• Leverage proprietary Python tools to create or update custom conversion frameworks
• Manage multiple projects while occasionally receiving escalated cases from management and prioritize accordingly
• Troubleshoot client project issues in a timely manner and escalate unresolved problems to the appropriate resources
• Thoroughly document and track production environment modifications
• Establish relationships with other partner teams that impact technical support including Implementation Teams, Data Center Operations, QA, and Development
• Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
• Follow internal change control processes to implement any required production modifications
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Mentor junior team members

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Typically requires a BTech and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
• Minimum of 7+ years of previous data migration experience required
• 5+ years of experience writing tools using Python or similar scripting language
• 5+ years of experience with MSSQL
• Strong knowledge of XML
• Strong knowledge of common banking terminology and best practices
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills required
• Keen attention to detail while keeping an eye toward the big picture
• Availability to work weekends and the occasional late night or early morning is required
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, tight timelines and demanding constraints
• Ability to work on and prioritize multiple assignments, prioritize, and resolve issues in a timely manner within a high-pressure environment
