Job Title: Lead Civil and Structural Design Engineer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Functional Skills:

• Good exposure in Civil design and core standard specifications, Structural and Civil load calculations, Equipment facing, Familiar with overall Plot plant, Civil Foundation, Shallow, Depth, Stone & Concrete Column, etc. Should have Soil Investigation and Topography exposure.
• Experience of coordinating with project engineering team during FEED and EPC stages. Experience of coordinating with contractors and sub-contractors during construction stage.
• Responsible for Civil & Structural engineering/design activities for Greenfield/Brownfield industrial, petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas and infrastructure projects.
• Develop and review engineering deliverables including civil layouts, foundation drawings, RCC/structural steel drawings, design calculations and specifications.
• Design/review equipment foundations, pipe rack foundations, structural foundations, tank foundations, buildings, paving, roads, drains and other plant infrastructure.
• Provide technical inputs on geotechnical investigations, soil investigation reports and soil parameters for civil and foundation design.
• Evaluate soil bearing capacity, settlement, groundwater conditions, lateral earth pressure and other geotechnical parameters affecting foundation design.
• Perform/review engineering of shallow and deep foundations, pile foundations, pile caps and heavy equipment foundations.
• Coordinate with Geotechnical, Structural, Mechanical, Process, Piping and Construction teams for integrated engineering solutions.
• Review and interpret geotechnical investigation reports, bore logs, soil test results and foundation recommendations.
• Support selection of suitable foundation systems based on soil conditions, equipment loads, structural loads and site constraints.
• Review contractor/vendor drawings, calculations, technical submittals and method statements related to civil, structural and foundation works.
• Ensure engineering complies with applicable Indian/International codes, project specifications, safety and quality requirements.
• Provide technical support during construction, foundation execution, piling, site issues and engineering modifications.
• Identify and resolve design/site-related civil, structural and geotechnical issues in coordination with project stakeholders.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Sound technical knowledge of subject for structural analysis, design, and detailing.
• Proficient in STAAD Pro for structural analysis and design.
• Proficient in design of RCC and steel structures used in the industry (pipe racks, technological structures, substations, control rooms, equipment foundations, etc.)
• Experienced with analysis and design of modular structures.
• Good at checking of calculations and drawings.
• Proactive, flexible, and having patience to explore various methods for optimizing designs.
