    Lead, Design Simulation Application Engineer

Digital Engineering and Tech Debt (DE&TD) Team is looking for a technical expert in the design simulation industry. DE&TD is a Schneider transversal department focusing on R&D applications used in the company. The position can apply expertise to setup services on simulation tools, methods, processes, and data with Schneider R&D global wide users.

This role will be based in our Bangalore, India office.

The Design Simulation Application Engineer is accountable for the health, compliance, and performance of one or more Design Simulation tools (examples: Ansys Mechanical, Ansys Fluent, Altair HyperWorks suite, Autodesk Moldflow, SPDM Minerva, etc.).

    What You Will Do

    • Own and oversee the full application lifecycle, from deployment through retirement for one or more Design Simulation tools.
    • Ensure availability, performance, security, certification, and data governance compliance for assigned applications.
    • Execute upgrades, deployments, configuration changes, and system integrations; run end-to-end testing and validation.
    • Monitor post-deployment stability; lead issue resolution, including vendor escalations.
    • Partner with the Product Manager on roadmap planning, prioritization, and execution.
    • Maintain strong awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies, including AI‑driven simulation capabilities and intelligent features, to drive innovation, automation, and data-informed decisions.
    • Provide technical expertise for POC, pilots, and key initiatives; help stakeholders define technical requirements.
    • Monitor and manage license usage; produce monthly usage reporting and trend analysis; troubleshoot license and configuration issues.
    • Perform user onboarding/offboarding and access management; lead webinars/workshops; coach users on workflows and best practices.
    • Drive operational excellence: monitor SLAs/KPIs, ensure incident/request tracking in ServiceNow, maintain documentation, and identify automation opportunities.

    What Will Make You Successful

    • Strong ownership of service continuity and operational robustness (reliability, performance, and security) with disciplined execution and follow-through.
    • Hands-on troubleshooting skills across application configuration, licensing, integrations, and enterprise deployment patterns.
    • Pragmatic problem-solving approach that balances speed, quality, and long-term sustainability.
    • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments across Enterprise IT, Digital Engineering and external vendors.
    • Clear written and verbal communication

    What's In It For You

    • A chance to shape how simulation is deployed and scaled across Schneider Electric R&D globally, directly improving productivity, quality, and innovation.
    • Hands-on exposure to leading CAE ecosystems (Ansys, Altair, Autodesk, SPDM and etc.) and their integration into enterprise Digital Engineering platforms.
    • Opportunities to drive modernization (automation, standardization, AI-enabled capabilities) and deliver visible outcomes through pilots and roadmap execution.
    • A collaborative, transversal role working with product management, engineering teams, and technology partners in a global environment.

    Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

    • 5+ years of experience supporting and administering engineering or simulation applications in an enterprise environment.
    • Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, IT service management, and software deployment practices.
    • Hands-on experience with CAD, simulation tools such as Ansys, Altair, Autodesk, or equivalent, and related ecosystems.
    • Familiarity with Digital Twin, Digital Thread concepts and AI-enabled engineering workflows (analytics, copilots, LLM assistants).
    • Experience with license management, SCCM packaging, and enterprise-scale deployments.
    • Solid understanding of infrastructure dependencies, licensing models, and system integrations.
    • Ability to assess upgrade impacts, risks, and technical dependencies.
    • Working knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity, compliance and Agile ways of working; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
