Job Description - Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer (Java, Product Engineering & Production Support)

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Software Engineer/Senior Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering team.

Responsibilities

• The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java-based application development, production support, system analysis, and modern software delivery practices.
• This role requires a blend of development expertise, operational excellence, stakeholder management, and a passion for emerging AI technologies.
• The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, Redis, and related technologies.
• A strong understanding of the product architecture and technology stack is essential to efficiently troubleshoot issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement scalable solutions.
• Experience with source code management and CI/CD tools such as GitHub and Jenkins is required to ensure efficient software delivery and deployment processes.
• As part of the production support function, the candidate will perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents, investigate application and infrastructure issues, and provide Level 2 technical support to ensure high system availability and reliability.
• The role also involves monitoring application performance through platforms such as Kibana and proactively addressing performance degradation, API latency, and operational risks.
• The individual will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and supporting Development, UAT, and Production environments involving technologies such as Java, Nginx, Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, and other middleware components.
• A solid understanding of network architecture, connectivity, system integrations, and inter-service communication is necessary for effective troubleshooting and deployment management.
• The candidate should possess hands-on experience with at least one database technology, including PostgreSQL, MariaDB, HSQL, or Cassandra, and be comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Knowledge of web and application servers, including Apache, Nginx, Angular, and HTML5, will be an added advantage.
• In addition to technical responsibilities, the role requires coordination with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, external vendors, and infrastructure teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of project objectives.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, and Slack is expected.
• The candidate should also be capable of preparing product specifications, documenting technical requirements, and creating comprehensive test cases to support quality engineering practices.
• A strong interest in Artificial Intelligence technologies is highly desirable. Familiarity with modern AI tools, frameworks, and AI-assisted development practices will be advantageous in driving innovation, improving engineering efficiency, and enhancing product capabilities.

Required Skills & Educational Qualification

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline, or Master of Science (M.Sc.)/Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
• Experience in FinTech or Digital Payments domain will be preferred.
• In this role, you will leverage your experience to design, develop, and deliver robust enterprise solutions while mentoring junior engineers, contributing to technical leadership initiatives, and adopting AI-driven development practices to improve software quality, productivity, and operational excellence.
