Job Summary

Siemens Healthineers is looking for an experienced Lead Engineer – Full Stack Development to join its AI/GenAI team and contribute to building enterprise-grade software applications.

The role involves designing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and extending software applications and services within a regulated medical-device development environment. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Python, TypeScript, Angular, FastAPI, cloud technologies, databases, and LLM-powered application development.

The candidate will contribute to application architecture, technical design, implementation, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with quality, information security, and data privacy requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Front-End Development

• Build user-facing application features using Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS/SCSS, and enterprise UI component libraries.
• Develop maintainable, scalable, and responsive frontend applications.
• Integrate frontend components with backend services and external platforms.

2. Back-End Development

• Design, develop, and maintain asynchronous server-side services using Python and FastAPI.
• Work with Uvicorn and related backend technologies.
• Implement Server-Sent Events (SSE) and streaming capabilities for real-time application communication.
• Develop reliable, secure, and scalable backend services.

3. API Development and Integration

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and streaming APIs.
• Integrate Angular frontend applications with backend services and external platforms.
• Ensure API reliability, security, performance, and maintainability.

4. Database Management

• Design, develop, and maintain application databases using PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB, or MongoDB.
• Implement secure data storage, retrieval, and management practices.
• Work with RDF-based knowledge graph data, SPARQL, and enterprise knowledge graph platforms where applicable.

5. AI / GenAI / LLM Integration

• Build and consume LLM-powered workflows using AI agent frameworks such as LangChain and CrewAI.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise applications.
• Work with Azure AI Search and/or Databricks where applicable.

6. Cloud Deployment and DevOps

• Deploy and manage cloud-based applications using Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
• Work with Azure Virtual Machines, App Service, Functions, Cognitive Services, and Cosmos DB.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, application releases, version upgrades, fixes, and patches.
• Monitor application performance and support ongoing maintenance.

7. Architecture, Testing, and Troubleshooting

• Conduct complex technical evaluations and propose suitable application architectures and detailed designs.
• Participate in software design, development, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshoot client/server, application/database, network, storage, installation, usability, availability, performance, and scalability issues.
• Follow coding standards, framework best practices, and appropriate automated testing practices.

8. Quality, Security, and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with quality, information security, and data privacy regulations.
• Support software development activities in a regulated medical-device environment.
• Maintain application reliability, security, and performance throughout the software lifecycle.

9. Collaboration and Agile Delivery

• Collaborate with designers, project managers, engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical discussions, solution design, and decision-making.
• Work within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Programming: Expert knowledge of Python and TypeScript.
• Frontend: Angular, HTML5, SCSS/CSS, JavaScript, and enterprise UI component libraries.
• Backend: FastAPI, Uvicorn, asynchronous services, and API development.
• AI/GenAI: Experience building and consuming LLM-powered workflows using frameworks such as LangChain or CrewAI.
• Databases: PostgreSQL or Azure Cosmos DB/MongoDB.
• Cloud: Experience deploying and managing applications using Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
• Software Engineering: Experience in software solution design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• RDF-based knowledge graphs and SPARQL.
• Experience with enterprise knowledge graph platforms.
• Azure AI Search.
• Databricks.
• Server-Sent Events (SSE) and streaming APIs.
• CI/CD pipelines and application lifecycle management.
• Experience in regulated healthcare or medical-device software development.
• Familiarity with quality, information security, and data privacy requirements.

Qualifications

• BE/MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience in designing and developing software solutions.
• Experience working with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, initiative, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn, explore emerging technologies, and contribute to innovation.
